I had a great time finally getting to do Kayla's maternity photoshoot. Lisa and her husband Aaron where there to help me with it. And from what Kayla has told me she really enjoyed the shoot. And we got some amazing shots! Kayla and her husband are a very handsome couple and you can tell they are so much in love, just from looking at the photos and watching how they look at each other. Their daughter Bridgett is coming into a very loving family. And i cant wait to get their new born photos done! Here is a sneak peek of the photos. But you only get one. :D

Changes!
So i recently started a internship with an amazing local photographer. Her name is Lisa Houghton, and she owns and runs Mona Lisa's Photography. She is brilliant behind a camera. And i have been learning so much and i have only done three shoots with her in two days. The shoots we have done have been some of the kinds i have always wanted to do, and now that i have seen how it works i think i will start to understand the more business side of things and when i open a studio some day, i will have an advantage because i will know a little more. And when it comes to being an intern with Lisa, its great because she takes any advice you have, like a new position or new pose, and tries it to see if it works for the photo(s). She has used some of the ideas that i have put out and actually liked them. I am so excited to see where this goes because as this is my passion, i hope it takes me places and lets me meet and network with new people. So watch for changes and developements and improvements in my photography!

Upcoming Maternity Shoot with Kayla
I just thought i would give an update on what projects i have planned coming soon. I am so excited that i am getting to do my first Maternity shoot with Kayla Cox. A beautiful mom to be who is in her third trimester. Now since this is my first photo shoot, obviously i dont have alot of experience with photography a pregnant womans body, so i have taken to the internet to find inspiration and inspiration i did find! There are so many great shots and ideas out there. I want this shoot to be a exciting and wonderful time for Kayla and her husband Daniel, to celebrate the life of their soon to be daughter! I am still working on getting inspired but i have a bunch of great thoughts running through my head, keep your fingers crossed that it will be an awsome shoot!

Fall with Kim
I recently had a photo shoot, with my friend Kim, who after being asked a million times to model for me, FINALLY agreed to do it. The day was fun because we ended up walking all over the place and getting some pretty great shots. And i would have to say that this is the first time i hung out with kim for a overly extended period of time. I had originally planned on trying to do a more fashion photo shoot, with the idea that Kim was the goddess of the spring, but that fell through because we couldnt find the right kind of dress for it, lol plus i wanted to take some photos of her in some water and it would have been freezing, so instead, i really liked what she was wearing already (she is very fashionable). So we kind of just wing(ed?), (wung?) it. I think she had alot of fun and i know i did, and not only did i get some great shots of her, i found some new locations to do some more photo shoots. So here are a few samples, these are my favorites. and to see the full album go to My Photography Fan Page

Fall is in the Air
I was just reading through my blog posts, and i realize that i started each one with the word so and then when on to explain. Haha so i decided i would start this one off a little different.....
What is it about fall that makes us want to get our cameras out and take hundreds of pictures? Is it the blazing leaves? Is it the change blowing in the wind? or is it just some emotional connection with the season. Well whatever the reason, I, just like every other photographer, took my camera out and snapped a few pictures. I didnt get to get up into the hills and get photos of the hills on fire with color, but i did do my best with the trees and plants in town, which are just a beautiful. I thought i would share a few samples. I am still doing some editing on these and would like to try some different filters on them in photo shop but these are what i have done.

P.S. More photos to come soon.

Kim and Lalio
So my cousin Kim, who lives in California, came for a visit and brought her son Elalio. Kim doesnt get a chance to visit us very often, so this was the first time i say Lalio. And the minute i saw the two of them together, i knew i need to do momma and baby photos together. So a few days before her trip ended we had a BBQ at our house for family and what not. and thats when i decided we should do a photo shoot. As the sun was setting, Kim, Elalio, and I went outside and just played around with new pictures. We got Lalio laughing and playing with a duck. I think it turned out great and she really liked them. Let me know what you think of them and if you would like to see the full album check them out at : Kim and Lalio

Fair-ly Recent
So the state fair just got done here in Rapid City. And whenever i think of the fair, the things that always come to mind is funnel cake, dizzying rides, and the air filled with laughs and screams. Now i didnt get a chance to get up to the fair this year because i was busy with work. But the fair has always held its on kind of magic for me, its the last big bang before school starts again, it also signals that fall is just around the corner. So i figured since i didnt get a chance to go to the fair this year i would share some photos i got last year. I wanted them to feel like a small town, kind of rustic fair. So let me know whacha think. :D

No Fishing
So while i was living in Florida, i got to take a vacation, when a friend from Rhode Island came for a visit, to a very beautiful island called Anna Marie Island. It was a three day vacation and one of the days we went to Anna Marie Island Peir, which happens to be the most photographed place in all of Florida. This peir has a beautiful walk to the end and at the end there is a restraunt and from the looks of it, most days it has people fishing all around it. It was a beautiful place and i greatly enjoyed the company. Thanks for coming down Wayne. So i got a bunch of photos and i just got around to editing them now. So here is a few samples. Hiking in the Black Hills
So this is my first post on this new blog. I created this blog because i thought it might be a good way for my fans to follow what i am doing. So lets see if it works.
Something you should know about me, I carry my camera with me where ever i go. No matter what i am doing. So i went hiking earlier this week, through the beautiful Black Hills, with my good friend Dana. It was a very nice hike, and we ended up at Sheridan Lake. And me being me, i took my camera with me and took over 120 photos. The hike was relaxing and i am sure we are going to do it again. So i was sitting here at work today and i decided to go through and edit the ones that i thought wre the best ones so i thought i would share them so i could have at least one blog post on here lol. Hopefully i will have more photoshoots coming up and i will be sharing them with you soon. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think of the photos. I love any and all critiques.
